Can I use a Game Cube controller on my computer?

I want to hook up my Nintendo Game Cube controller up to my computer to play games online. Is there a way I can do that? If so, how? And is it also possible to use a Nintendo Game Cube game in the disc slot on the computer? I don't want to harm my computer or my game so that's why I'm asking first before I perform the action. And NO. The GameCube can't do anything with a computer. Sorry. GameCube games are only meant for a GameCube. GameCube controllers are only meant for a GameCube.

Besides, if all you need to play GameCube games was a controller and a computer, then what would be the point in buying a GameCube console?
YES you can use a gamecube controller on a PC, you must however buy an adapter for it such as the one here which wil also allow you to plug in a ps2 and xbox controller as well
