Why does the Xbox 360 have 4 controller spots if no games take advantage of it?

There were a few early games like perfect dark, dead or alive four and ghost recon, but since then there has been next to nothing. Does anyone know of any upcoming games with splitscreen offline coop or 4 player splitscreen versus?Why does the Xbox 360 have 4 controller spots if no games take advantage of it?
Halo 3 would be a good bet, but on the side I'd like to give you a piece of information about the controller slots.


You CAN have 4 controllers hooked up to the Xbox 360, but only 3 o fthose can be wired. The 4th HAS to be a wireless controller because there IS no '4th plug' for a 4th wired controller. Two in the front, one in the back.

Call of Duty 2 and 3 both can have up to four players
Well NBA 2k7 has 4 player and even like alot of football games or basically all sports game support up to 4 players
halo, halo 2, and G.R.A.W. are only 3 of the many 4 player 360 games
