Can I use the GC controller with the Wii?

if you open the first flap ontop of your Wii it reveals 4 ports that you may have seen on the front of a gamecube, if you open the other flat next to it it will reveal two slots for gamecube memory cards





when you insert a gamecube game into your Wii it will prompt you to insert your gamecube controller





or if you download one of the NES, S-NES, N64, or Sega Genesis games from the virtual console channel in the Wii shop channel, when u begin play it will also prompt you to insert either the retro wii-mote attachment that attaches to the Wii-mote or a gamecube controller

Yes, i believe you can. Do you know that you can put Gamecube games in the Wii?
If using a GameCube disk. You can only play with a GC controller. Concealed in a flip panel, there is 4 controller ports and 2 memory card slots. But if playing games for the Wii, you cannot use the GameCube controller to play them.
